Following the implementation of all office spaces in the Emaar Turkey Square Mall, Diem took part in the stunning Emaar SkyView project – a unique space offering spellbinding 360° vistas over the city.
The project is part of Square Mall, developed by leading real estate giant Emaar Turkey has been welcoming visitors since 2017 and includes a shopping mall, restaurants, office floors and residential spaces.
In 2022, Emaar SkyView was implemented on the 47th and 48th floors of the LEED Certificated North Tower which contains a hotel; an impressive 2650 sqm project with an altitude of 284 meters above sea level.
Diem’s engineering and architecture teams implemented the common areas of all office blocks in Emaar Turkey. The brief for Emaar SkyView was very different, aiming to create a unique, boutique project.
For Diem’s team, developing the details perfectly was a key requirement to ensure that the intended visual effects were created and adhered to the design.
Emaar had a project tracking system that allowed real time coordination across its global team. This allowed specialist contractors Diem to rapidly share their drawings with the team significantly reducing the approval process lead time - from technical analysis, manufacturing drawings, material approvals and mock-up presentations.
Diem’s team carried out the implementation of the pebble terrazzo on the 47th floor, the wall covering applications and the floor, wall and ceiling applications on the floor above. The team also carried out a total of about 70 tons of steel fabrication, connecting the ceiling to the roof.
The project also came with some challenges. Working simultaneously with a global team and other contractors required accurate planning and seamless communication, while adapting to the processes and systems required by the client.
