Studio Alliance member Danielsen Spaceplanning designed the Willis Towers Watson workplace in Nærum, Copenhagen.
The 1,200 m² office has been developed through a holistic design approach that places the employee at the centre of the interior concept. The workplace integrates aesthetics, functionality and organisational values to support motivation, belonging and well-being within a cohesive and adaptable working environment.
Design Philosophy and Spatial Framework
The design concept is grounded in a people-centred approach, aligning spatial organisation and material expression with the company’s core values. Reception and meeting areas are conceived to convey trust and hospitality, while open and flexible collaboration spaces encourage dialogue and exchange.
The layout accommodates a range of work settings, supporting both collective interaction and focused activity. Across the scheme, the ambition has been to balance clarity of organisation with a welcoming and engaging atmosphere.
Materiality and Colour Strategy
Natural and tactile elements, including daylight and greenery, contribute to a calm yet stimulating environment. The colour palette combines warm earth tones with contrasting accents to reflect the differing functions of each space.
Open work areas are characterised by terracotta, brown and sand tones, establishing a grounded and composed setting. Shared and more dynamic zones incorporate soft blue and green hues to introduce variation and energy. Social spaces are defined by deeper red and golden tones, while focus areas are dominated by green shades intended to support concentration and presence.
This layered approach to colour and material reinforces spatial legibility while contributing to overall user comfort.
Sustainability and Responsible Design
Material selection has been approached with a high degree of responsibility. Existing elements have been reused where feasible, and furniture life cycles extended. New products were selected for durability and reduced environmental impact, reflecting a considered and forward-looking resource strategy.
The design also addresses accessibility and inclusivity by providing varied room types and functional solutions to accommodate different needs and working patterns. Attention to craftsmanship and detail underpins the overall expression, ensuring that function and identity are integrated with respect for both occupants and their surroundings.
Collectively, the project delivers a workplace that aligns organisational values with spatial performance, creating a coherent and responsible office environment in Nærum.
