Aon in Rome: A Place for Collaboration, Inspiration and Exchange

A villa or a workspace? Why not both? For Aon’s new Rome location, Il Prisma’s goal was to create much more than just an office. This is a place of connection, growth, and exchange - a space that brings together history and innovation, highlighting both the architectural heritage of Villa Spierer and Aon’s forward-thinking character.

The design concept of “Progression Dimora” allowed them to honour the Villa’s legacy while transforming it into a modern hub for dialogue and creativity.

Villa Spierer: History Meets Innovation

Villa Spierer, a refined example of eclectic architecture, is located in an area of Rome historically known for its villas and gardens. For this project, Il Prisma’s inspiration came from these two worlds:

  • The elegance and prestige of Roman villas and palaces shaped the client experience, with representative and refined spaces.
  • Roman gardens, with their scents and colours, inspired the employee experience, featuring flexible and welcoming operational environments.

This vision is also reflected in the choice of room names - the Limoni Room, Cedri Room, and Salvia Room, which evoke nature and reinforce the connection with the identity of the place. The villa’s historic charm was preserved while being reinterpreted in a contemporary key, offering unique and meaningful experiences for both clients and employees.

A Cohesive Identity

To maintain consistency, panels and structures were introduced that, like a second skin, add a contemporary layer without erasing the past. This creates a smooth dialogue between history and innovation.

Environmental branding, furniture, materials, and colours were all designed to align with Aon’s visual identity and other corporate offices, establishing a unified and recognisable language.

Multifunctional Outdoor Spaces

The outdoor areas were transformed into multifunctional environments for relaxation, socialisation, and meetings. These spaces reflect Aon’s innovative vision while honouring the villa’s heritage.

Technology for the Future

Cutting-edge systems were seamlessly integrated into the project, including a Building Management System (BMS), advanced connectivity solutions, and spaces designed for hybrid work, all while preserving the villa’s identity.

A European Reference Point

Aon’s new Rome location has become a European reference point for all the company’s offices: a model of innovation and collaboration that goes beyond the typical office concept.

It is a space where people come together to collaborate, get inspired, and connect - where Aon’s innovative spirit and the Villa’s historic past blend into a vibrant, fluid environment.
