In the heart of Barcelona’s 22@ district, Studio Alliance member Grupo Cador has delivered the new headquarters for Bridgestone Mobility Solutions, setting a new standard for hybrid workspaces.
About the Project
This new headquarters not only serves as a central hub for Bridgestone Mobility Solutions in Spain but also aligns with the multinational’s wider mission to redefine mobility management. Located in a technology-rich area also home to Facebook, Amazon, and Oracle, the office is strategically positioned to attract talent and foster innovation.
Grupo Cador’s brief was clear: create an attractive, comfortable, and forward-looking space that captured the essence of Barcelona while reflecting Bridgestone’s global brand identity.
Scope of Work
Grupo Cador conducted a comprehensive workplace strategy that included site visits to Bridgestone’s Amsterdam and Brussels offices, stakeholder interviews, and occupancy analysis.
The Amsterdam office, designed and delivered by Studio Alliance member DITT, served as an important reference point, offering insights into how Bridgestone’s global values could be locally interpreted. Drawing from this, the Barcelona HQ reflects a seamless continuation of brand identity, workplace functionality, and sustainability goals.
The space features brainstorming areas, a demo zone, sprint rooms, and even a game room—highlighting the company’s agile and people-first philosophy.
From a design standpoint, four core pillars guided the project: corporate identity, sustainability, technology, and a strong connection to local culture.
Key highlights include:
- Integration of Bridgestone’s branding through strategic use of logos, colours, and materials
- Biophilic elements and ergonomic design (height-adjustable desks, natural lighting, indoor vegetation)
- Carbon-neutral carpets and LED lighting for energy efficiency
- Custom acoustic solutions, including slatted ceilings and double-glazed partitions
- State-of-the-art IT infrastructure and a purpose-built tech demo space
A Celebration of ‘Glocal’ Design
One of the project’s most distinctive features is its ‘glocal’ approach—balancing global brand consistency with strong local identity.
Design elements inspired by Barcelona include the use of diagonal lines (a nod to the city’s iconic Avinguda Diagonal), locally themed meeting rooms (Montjuïc, Tibidabo), and a colour palette that transitions from sea-inspired blues to the deep burgundy of Bridgestone’s brand core.
This seamless fusion creates a vibrant, culturally resonant space that supports both local and international teams.
