Icade

Studio Alliance member Archimage designed and delivered the Icade workplace transformation within the HyFive Tower, La Défense.

Relocating Icade’s teams into the HyFive Tower — a building the company owns — required the delivery of more than 6,000 m² of workspace within a high-rise environment and to an exceptionally tight programme. Guided by the concept of “The City”, Archimage structured the space to balance operational efficiency, employee experience and environmental responsibility, while achieving full reuse of existing furniture.

The Brief

The integration of Icade’s teams into the HyFive tower presented a series of interrelated challenges. The project required delivery within a particularly compressed timeframe while coordinating works across a three-sided high-rise configuration. At the same time, the brief called for the creation of a cohesive workplace identity across a substantial 6,000 m² footprint, aligned with clear sustainability objectives.

The scale and programme demanded careful planning, precise execution and a strong conceptual framework capable of guiding both design and delivery.

Concept: “The City”

Drawing on Icade’s position as a real estate company, Archimage developed the concept of “The City” as the organising principle for the workplace.

The spatial strategy places office areas within the building’s wings, creating welcoming and functional environments for day-to-day activity. Around the central core, themed communal spaces act as shared destinations, encouraging interaction and reinforcing the conceptual narrative. This approach establishes clarity of circulation, intuitive zoning and a coherent identity throughout the workspace.

Sustainability and Material Strategy

Beyond the architectural concept, sustainability formed a central pillar of the project. Particular attention was given to the specification of eco-designed materials and to the complete reinstallation of 100% of the existing furniture.

Retaining and reintegrating all existing furniture significantly reduced environmental impact while ensuring continuity for Icade’s teams. The strategy reflects a considered balance between design ambition and responsible resource management.

Delivery

Despite the constraints of scale, configuration and programme, the relocation was delivered successfully. The completed workplace provides a cohesive and welcoming environment that supports Icade’s operational needs within a building it owns, in the heart of La Défense.
