Redefining private healthcare design: DVM’s Dr. Rose project in Budapest

When DVM was commissioned once again to design for Dr. Rose, this time on the fifth floor of the Roosevelt Office Building in Budapest, the team recognised the opportunity to redefine what a healthcare environment can feel like.

The 1,900 m² space was designed to serve both professional precision and patient comfort, ensuring that technology, functionality, and human experience work in harmony, where healing begins the moment one walks in.

Designing for comfort and precision

The facility includes 22 modern patient rooms, two state-of-the-art operating theatres, a dedicated back-office area and a call centre. Every part of the space was designed to ensure smooth daily operation while providing a calm and reassuring experience for patients.

Creating a sterile yet welcoming environment posed a particular challenge. DVM designed a patient pathway that met strict medical standards without losing a sense of warmth. Six distinct colour schemes were developed for patient rooms, giving individuals a sense of choice and personal connection.

Atmosphere of calm and trust

In the reception area, the design team focused on atmosphere as much as functionality. Natural materials, indigo wall accents and warm tones create a sense of calm and security from the first impression. Working closely with Dr. Rose’s medical team, DVM shaped an environment that conveys “homely professionalism” - a balance between trust, care, and sophistication.

Technical precision, aesthetic harmony

In the operating theatres, medical gas systems and integrated stands were positioned to meet strict technical requirements while preserving visual coherence. DVM's design philosophy ensures that even complex systems can exist seamlessly within a unified aesthetic.

From concept to reality

The most rewarding moment came as months of design development came to life. Every detail found its place, revealing an environment that is contemporary, inspiring and human-centred, one that supports both professional excellence and patient wellbeing.
