When the precision of Japanese philosophy meets Czech creativity, the result is a space defined by calm and balance. Takeda Pharmaceuticals CR, one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies, once again partnered with CAPEXUS to transform its Prague offices at Panorama Business Centre.
Rather than starting from scratch, the project focused on a sensitive redesign that builds on the original implementation and elevates it further. Across 970 sqm, the interior combines light-filled spaces, natural materials and Japanese-inspired details, bringing together biophilia, art and modern technology in a harmonious whole.
A new rhythm of work
The redesign introduced not only a new layout, but a new rhythm of work. Closed offices gave way to a more open environment that encourages natural collaboration while maintaining a sense of freedom. Wood, stone and greenery form a carefully balanced composition, supported by subtle lighting design and acoustic comfort.
Slatted passageways with integrated LED lighting, cloud-like light fixtures and a large green wall at the reception create an environment that is both representative and calming. The space promotes concentration and collaboration while reflecting Takeda’s Japanese roots - respect for order, detail and balance.
The living breath of the interior
The interior is defined by natural materials, high-quality lighting and sophisticated acoustics. Wood and stone are paired with soft shades of grey, complemented by green accents from live and artificial plants. Large vertical greenery by Jungle Interiors forms a dominant feature, bringing a living presence into the office.
These biophilic elements are not decorative alone. They connect the space, soften acoustics and contribute to a sense of calm and wellbeing throughout the workplace.
Japanese poetry of space
Atypical Japanese-inspired elements run throughout the interior, most notably the slatted passageways with integrated LED lighting that have become a defining motif. Light fixtures with organic, cloud-like forms add lightness and poetry, while open ceilings in uniform light grey alternate with acoustic islands above workstations that also integrate technology.
The result is a workspace that is both functional and visually calm.
Every piece has meaning
The furniture strategy combines standard and atypical elements. The interior features the Noom 30 collection from Actiu, SilentLab telephone booths and solutions from Verti, all selected to fit naturally within the overall concept. Each piece supports the comfort of employees and the fluidity of the space.
Coordination down to the last detail
Although the original space plan was prepared by another company, CAPEXUS’s design was seamlessly integrated into the existing framework. The project required precise coordination due to the number of atypical details and close collaboration with suppliers.
Despite a tight schedule, the fit-out was completed on time without compromising quality or aesthetics. Architect Jakub Majtás, who also worked on the original design, built on his earlier work to further develop the space.
"It was wonderful to return to the space after all these years and develop it further. We managed to take the already beautiful existing interior to the next level and show that, just like trends and technology, we are constantly moving forward in our designs."
New life for a familiar place
Takeda’s new offices represent evolution rather than revolution. The project demonstrates how a familiar space can be revitalised by responding sensitively to the rhythm of the place, the needs of its people and the values of the brand.
The result is an interior defined by calm, light and healthy energy, reflecting the very qualities Takeda brings to the world around it.
