Workplace as Identity: Built from the Inside

For Chaos Group’s new headquarters in Sofia, SGI asked a central question: how can a workplace reflect not only what a company does, but who it is?

By focusing on culture, collaboration, and lived experience, the project reveals identity through design - not by imposing it, but by allowing it to emerge from within.

About the Project
From the outset, SGI worked with teams across the organisation - including marketing, HR, and the in-house CGI department, to understand both day-to-day needs and long-term ambitions. This foundation ensured the workplace would be relevant and responsive from the start.

Design Approach
Feedback was collected through 3D visualisations and collaborative platforms, allowing employees to shape zoning logic, material tone, and other key aspects of the design. These inputs were layered directly into the process as living data, resulting in a space that felt tailored and authentic from day one.

Scope of Work
Identity was expressed through space rather than applied as a visual overlay. A parametric 3D wall in reception hints at the company’s computational mindset, while acoustic interventions in the recording studio support technical work.

Every detail - from signage to spatial flow - was developed in collaboration with expert partners, including acoustic engineers, brand designers, and software visualisers. The integrated process ensured the workplace reflects how Chaos Group works, thinks, and connects.
