Beyond the workplace sector: Reesco Group expands its area of expertise

Most sectors have been hit hard by the pandemic, resulting in a growing need for adaptation of existing spaces and a new approach to design altogether.

The retail sector is one of the most affected. Reesco Group has expanded its area of specialisation by creating Reesco Retail, a team with extensive experience in planning and redevelopment of retail facilities.

“Although the retail property sector will change, we believe that shopping centres will see a revival. When we step into a shopping centre, the difficult situation that the industry currently finds itself in is obvious. Many centres in Poland, on account of their age and level of exploitation, were already facing a great need of refurbishment or even complete redevelopment,” says Artur Winnicki, CEO of Reesco Group. “We have seen an increased demand for experienced partners able to carry out the entire investment process. Having already completed several retail projects, we will now further develop this area of expertise with our new, dedicated team,” he adds.

The creation of Reesco Retail within Reesco Group is a direct response to the needs of owners, managers and tenants. The new team’s key task will be to analyse redevelopment opportunities and propose the best approach for the design process, evaluation and construction. The Reesco Retail team will operate on three levels: adaptation of the space and fit-out works for tenants, redevelopment of facilities for landlords, and construction of retail parks and convenience centres.

The Reesco Retail team will be headed by Lucyna Śliż and Tomasz Tylec, who will bring to the table a combined experience gained through extensive work with consulting agencies and managing construction projects for the office and retail sector.

“Reesco has developed over 700,000 sqm of office, retail and hotel spaces in more than 600 projects. Our expertise in planning and executing major commercial real estate redevelopments has enabled us to create a new team focused on this market sector. We have excellent project managers and engineers who will use their past experience and knowledge to secure new contracts and work on projects located across Poland," says Lucyna Śliż, Head of Development, Reesco Retail.

“The creation of Reesco Retail is a natural step in the evolution of the company. Within the office sector, we specialise in thorough process development, searching for quality and cost-optimised solutions that meet our clients' expectations. For the last two years, we have been carrying out a major redevelopment for the Bonarka Shopping Centre in Kraków. The scope of work already completed includes approximately 8,900 sqm of redevelopment, with the creation of about 1,500 sqm of new GLA. We have the know-how to execute multi-phase projects such as this one, which is why we are now ready to extend our service range to the retail sector" comments Tomasz Tylec, Head of Construction, Reesco Retail.
