Engineering 2K - A Gentle Warehouse Experience

Is it possible to bring together two companies that have grown side by side, yet remain divided by language, space, and identity?

For its new headquarters in Rozzano, Engineering 2K, a leading general contractor in logistics, entrusted Il Prisma with the design of a space that could finally unite the two branches of its family-run group: E2K and ALS. The previous office told a fragmented story. This new project had to give shape to a shared identity.

The vision: “Creating a Gentle Warehouse Experience, where you can work, live and share moments.” A design that brings the essence of the industrial world into a more human, everyday dimension.

A Shared Hub at the Core

Il Prisma developed the concept around a central core - a fluid, permeable space connecting the entrance, guest area, library, workcafé, and boardroom. This shared hub encourages exchange and interaction, where paths naturally cross.

Surrounding it are operational areas, including open-plan workspaces, enclosed offices for managers, and a variety of support spaces such as focus rooms, phone booths, and meeting rooms of different sizes. Together, these elements foster cross-team connections and reinforce a sense of community and belonging.

Industrial DNA with a Human Touch

The design reflects the group’s industrial DNA, but with a softer approach.

  • Corrugated sheet metal, exposed systems, and raw materials highlight the industrial spirit.
  • Green walls, natural wood, and warm textures create balance and comfort.
  • The company’s signature blue becomes both graphic and architectural, guiding the eye and shaping volumes.

Ceilings and custom furniture draw inspiration from the iconic “X” pattern found in warehouse structures, blending identity with architectural detail.

Identity Walls for Every Team

A key design question was: how can each team see themselves in the space?

To answer this, Il Prisma designed a dedicated wall for every department, inspired by their daily work. Helmets, technical drawings, and visual cues add storytelling elements, making the workplace feel alive and personal.

Materiality and Details

Industrial materials were carefully translated into architectural features:

  • Metal profiles at the entrance evoke the warehouse aesthetic.
  • Exposed timber beams add warmth and hospitality.
  • Custom wood panelling in the library, inspired by the brand’s logo, creates rhythm and depth.

Environmental graphics complete the experience, with diagonal floor patterns and motivational messages across glass partitions.

One Ecosystem, One Identity

The result is a project that connects differences and puts them in dialogue.

With Il Prisma’s design, Engineering 2K’s new headquarters becomes more than a workplace, it is a living ecosystem that reflects the people inside it, supports collaboration, and embodies the evolution of an entire company.
