The Romans are renowned for being the inventors of roads, newspapers, sewers, sanitation and… the office
With 280 fountains, 900 churches and regal buildings steeped in history including the Vatican City, the Sistine Chapel and the Colosseum, the “Eternal City” of Rome is famous for its history, art, architecture and world-class food. A lesser known fact is the Romans invented the first initial concept of the office, with Ancient Rome creating its own business districts whereby shops, offices and government bureaus would surround large central squares.
